Kenneth C. Davis is the creator and author of the bestsellingDon't Know Much About series. The first book in the series,Don't Know Much About History: Everything You Need to Know About American History but Never Learned, was originally published in 1990 and spent 35 weeks on theNew York Times Bestseller List. In April 2003, a completely revised, expanded and updated edition ofDon't Know Much About History was published by HarperCollins. To date, more than 1.4 million copies of the book have been sold. This September, Davis answers all of the questions you never think to ask in a new book,Don't Know Much About Anything.

Davis struck a chord with Americans who want to be educated and entertained. With an engaging style and offbeat approach that uses humor, anecdotal material, and contemporary references, he makes his subjects—often viewed as "boring"—come vividly to life. Other titles in the series areDon't Know Much About Geography,Don't Know Much About the Civil War,Don't Know Much About the Bible, andDon't Know Much About the Universe. The latest volume isDon't Know Much About Mythology.

In addition, Davis has developed a series ofDon't Know Much About books for children. These books take theDon't Know Much About concept of making learning fun to younger readers in both picture books and middle grade reference books. They includeDon't Know Much About the 50 States,Don't Know Much About the Solar System,Don't Know Much About the Presidents, andDon't Know Much About the Pilgrims. He launched aDon't Know Much About biography series and the latest is a biography of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Once dubbed the "King of Knowing" by Amazon.com, Mr. Davis is also a contributing editor toUSA Weekend, where hisDon't Know Much About articles often appear in more than 600 newspapers. In addition, he has written for such national publications asThe New York Times,Newsday,The Washington Post, andSan Francisco Chronicle. He frequently brings his unconventional and entertaining approach to the subject of America's misunderstanding of history, geography, and the Bible to hundreds of television and radio talk shows, including National Public Radio, where he was a commentator forAll Things Considered, and many other public radio stations including Vermont Public Radio, where he is a frequent commentator. (You may also be interested to know that Davis has appeared as a "Wise Man" on TV's Who Wants to Be a Super Millionaire!)

Born and educated in public schools in Mt. Vernon, New York, Kenneth C. Davis attended Concordia College in Bronxville, New York, and Fordham University at Lincoln Center.
